Try This at Home

Blasting onto the air in 2003, Mythbusters proved there was no question too big, too small, or too ridiculous to put to the test. From chicken cannons to rocket cars and even a galaxy far, far away, the iconic Discovery Channel series did it all and left its mark on a generation of fans. Now hosts Cliff Bumgardner and Harrison Stewart are going back to revisit every myth, moment, experiment, and explosion from the show’s legendary run – and they’re inviting you along for the ride.

When Adam and Jamie test the myth of the magic bullet, it's frozen meat and questionable JFK video game sims galore as they try to find out how a bullet could simply disappear.
The pilots may be over, but Mythbusters is just hitting its stride as Cliff and Harrison stroll into the first episode that really feels like the show they remember and delight at the debut of a true Mythbusting legend: Buster! It's time to sing in the rain and hold onto your toilet for a brand new episode of Try This at Home!
NOTE: The audio lists this episode as season 1, which is wrong. It's confusing and we're sorry. For a full explanation, listen to episode 301: Myths Revisited.

Season one is just getting started, but already it's the end of an era as Cliff and Harrison watch the final Mythbusters pilot! This week three iconic myths get put to the test in an episode packed full of memorable moments... and questionably open containers of pee. It's time to jump back into montage heaven as Adam and Jamie track down all the helium in the greater Bay area in a not-quite-a-myth that leaves our hosts scratching their heads even while they hang onto their (Sears) seats. But when it looks like Jamie's life might be on the line in one of the most genuinely tense moments of the show so far, a test of Mythbusters' storytelling mettle shows why the series was always going to make it. All this (and did we mention a lot of pee?) on this week's Try This at Home!

Whoever invented the sophomore slump apparently didn't tell Adam or Jamie, because Mythbusters is back with a stellar second episode! This week Cliff and Harrison dive into the second of the show's three original pilots and are amazed to see how quickly it found its feet. But it's not all sunshine and toilet seats, as the guys still grapple with a few strange decisions – not the least of which being Adam's habit of putting everything in his mouth. Come for the butt jokes and stay for the steely tunes of the Stress Razors (that'll make sense later, we promise), but whatever you do don't miss the second episode of Try This at Home!

This week Cliff and Harrison go back to where it all began: The world premiere of Mythbusters. First airing in 2003, this episode introduced the world to Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman – two intrepid heroes on a quest. To do what... we're not quite sure yet. It's a pilot episode replete with high explosives and shadowy pig parts drug deals. But in a world before Mythbusting was a household phrase, our hosts discover a show that feels surprisingly different from the classic they remember. Is it a case of nostalgia clouding their memories, or will that unique Mythbusters magic shine through? Find out on the jam-packed debut of Try This at Home!
